A Couple of Downloads…update

Well I have almost all of Shopping for Christmas converted to SwiftUI and SwiftData! I worked in it all day Saturday and early Sunday morning. I then took a couple of hours to find out why US Capitals was crashing. It turns out, I started working on a storyboard, lost track, and ended up submitting an update to the app anyway. That was over a year ago. Whoa!! This post probably isn’t going to do me any favors but it’s just the truth. Anyway, I fixed it without the help of AI, tested and got the update submitted for review. Now, I’m back to finish Shopping for Christmas. With the help of Claude AI, I only have the passcode/Face ID security screen left to do!

A Couple of Downloads Has Inspired Me to Update 2 Apps

A week or so ago I noticed one of my seasonal-type apps (Shopping Christmas) was paid for and downloaded twice. And so was one of my educational apps, U.S. Capitals. I’ve decided to update these apps. It’s been a year since I updated Shopping Christmas, and 2 years for U.S. Capitials. To be quite frank, I’m not sure about the stability of Capitals. I’m so appreciative of those few downloads that I want to make sure these apps are solid. So here I go…revving up Claude ai and going to convert Shopping to SwiftUI. For U.S. Capitals, I’m first going to fix a bug before I do any code modernization. Both of these are currently coded in Swift.

My Apps State of the Union (a brief)

Most of my 10 or so apps will go a couple of years without updates. With my regular job and family life, there just isn’t enough time. AI has helped changed that. In the last couple of months, I’ve added a color theme option with in-app purchase to one app- Toothbrush Time, and wrote a brand new app called Weather Reminder. These were done with the help of ChatGPT and Claude AI. These updates and creations may sound minor, but I would not have found the time without these tools! When I create apps, I use the date for the SKU number. When uploading Weather Reminder, I noticed the SKU, and saw that I came up with the idea for that app in 2014! 🤦🏾‍♂️
